We met Ashley and Mike over a year ago when we bought a two year old filly from them. Although she was young and green, it was obvious she had been treated with a firm, yet gentle hand. Her sweet nature was greatly enhanced by the manner in which she was handled and resulted in excellent ground manner. We sent "Speedy" to Mike and Ashley with little optimism about her future. We had trouble doing even the simplest lunging with her. She was not respectful of humans and their space. When we took her to WestWay, we told them about all the trouble we had been having with Speedy. We were so happy when they said they would be able to help us. We very impressed with her progress and how Mike and Ashley invited us to visit ANYTIME we wanted. They were so open about every aspect of her training, good and bad. We have Speedy home now (after 60 days) and are now riding her ourselves. She is a well mannered, respectful and responsive horse. The first time I met Mike he was working at another facility on a green three year old that had never been saddled before. I was impressed with his horsemanship and training skills at the time. This was long before Mike and Ashley started Westway training. A year and a half passed and we were looking for a trainer, to break our two years olds to ride. I had used a few other trainers.... however, I simply wasn't please with the results. It was like I had to start the ground work all over again. When I heard Mike had started his own training program I believed that was truely a blessing from above. We are more than pleased with the results of Mike and Ashley's training program. Mike and Ashley are one of the best teams we have ever seen, no that's not right, they are the best team we have ever seen. He would work the horses and Ashley would groom and care for them. They cared for the horses just like they did their own horses. When the horses came home that were softer and easier to handle and well on their way of being well rounded horses. I am so pleased with what you all did with my stallion. It is one of the best gifts I have given myself... having you two train him. Now I feel comfortable riding him. Just wanted to let you know how much your instruction has helped. I have developed a bad habit of holding the tension in my shoulders and neck when I ride. I have been aware of it but the more I thought about it the worse it seemed to get. Your telling me to take it to my center has helped me remove this tension and be more relaxed. Chuck and Shooter took 1ST at the Bar B Ranch Sorting~Buckle Series!

113 Teams were present with several World Champions to boot.

It is no wonder why we own 3 Westway horses and have spent well over a year in riding lessons. IT PAID OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

All 3 are hauled 3/4 times a week to Compete and they will run a hole in the ground and give us 110% everyday of the week.

I thought you would like to see these. This was his first real day at work. We loaded up at 5:30 am and got home at 6:30 pm. He covered a lot of country, chased down a runaway cow in wide open spaces, sorted pairs, and stood tied quietly while we loaded cows to ship.(all in 100+ degrees) He is a super hose with a solid foundation. At the end of the day he was still ready for more. He has lots of try and no quit, and he is really learning to trust us. Thanks for giving him a great start. The funny picture is of him yawning in the middle of bawling cows... he was very happy.

We just wanted to tell you again how happy we are with Rooster (Swizzle). He rides like a dream and is so eager and willing to learn. He is exactly what you guys told us. Every time we take him somewhere people stop and comment on him. He started learning the barrel pattern last week and after two days was trotting easily and correctly! We put Marley up on him and he stands like a gentleman. We were off of him almost two weeks and he just rode off like it was nothing. We are very pleased and appreciate you guys so much! We are so glad we bought him through WestWay!
